SCREEN beauty Charlize Theron has found out the hard way that it doesn't pay to keep her man waiting.
The Oscar-winning actor arrived 45 minutes late to the chic Hungry Cat restaurant in Hollywood for a dinner with boyfriend and fellow actor Stuart Townsend before going to a Radiohead concert, and then heard all about it from her beau.
And heard it.
And heard it.
And heard it.
In fact the
Monster star copped such a serve that she ended up in tears, Britain's
Daily Mirror reports.
And the
Queen of the Damned actor, 33, didn't appear to care who was in earshot as he delivered his ear-bashing.
"Charlize sat teary-eyed as Stuart acted like a schoolmaster, lecturing her in front of their friends like she was a tardy student," a source said.
"Charlize kept trying to apologise, but he wouldn't let it go, calling her rude in front of their two guests."
The scolding stopped while a waitress took their meal order, but things were apparently uncomfortable for a while.
"Charlize was really embarrassed. She pleaded: 'I'm so sorry I was late, and I'm sorry you had to wait'," the source said.
"(She said) 'But I'm here now', before soothing him with kisses and caresses until he finally let up.
"He eventually gave in and said: 'I forgive you, but don't let it happen again'."
A restaurant employee confirmed: "Charlize and Stuart did come in for dinner last week. They came before a Radiohead concert. They were very late to their table."
